Sonya Keogh
Founding/Creative Director
As Founding Executive Director and Creative Director of ARTlifeCULTURE, Sonya is responsible for the creative vision and prudent management of this bold international youth arts company. Sonya has designed and delivered collaborative children’s and youth arts programmes for European Capitals of Culture Liverpool 2008, Vilnius 2009 and Pécs 2010, for World EXPOs Shanghai 2010 and Milan 2015 and for Ireland's 2016 Centenary Programme. Sonya is proud to have designed and developed summer SING! for her native Cork City.
Jude Dunne
Head of Digital Media
With a background in marketing within the food industry Jude has always been interested in strong images that could draw the viewers attention. Learning the principals of web and graphic design as well as food and commercial photography, Jude began to develop websites and branding for various businesses in the Cork area, creating original images as content for his clients. Jude has been working with the summer SING! Team to develop their images and digital media since the festival's inception.
Veronica Tadman
Festival Manager
Veronica is a singer and piano teacher based in Cork with both her BMUS and MA from UCC. Whilst growing up in England she was a member of Kent Youth Choir and her schools Award winning Percussion ensemble. Veronica has performed as a singer on many stages including the 'Lincoln Centre' NYC, 'Royal Albert Hall' London, and at 'Disneyland Paris'. Veronica believes that all children should be have the best musical and cultural experience whilst having fun in their city.
Deirdre Madden
Child & Staff Requirements Manager
Deirdre is Assistive Technology Outreach Co-ordinator for the Disability Support Service at UCC and has worked with Enable Ireland for the past 13 years. "Hi I’m Deirdre. I have volunteered with summer SING! for the past two years and enjoyed every minute. I love the idea of all children sharing their voices and exploring their city. I hope to help summer SING! be more inclusive for all children of all abilities and form all backgrounds" We are delighted to have Deirdre as part of our Team this year as we work together in the aim towards making summer SING! a more inclusive Festival for all!
Joe Keniry
Production Manager
Joe is the ‘Head of Production’ at Summer SING! He’s currently in his final year, studying a BA in popular music at the Cork School of Music. Joe has been a part of the production team since 2015. He is an experienced percussionist, sound designer and music producer. In 2018, he wrote and produced the festival’s unique theme song alongside the Summer SING! creative team and vocal ensemble. Joe is proud to have both a critical and a creative voice for the Festival.
Martin Daly
Park Events Manager
Martin Daly is in charge of FUN! We asked Martin to say a little something about himself and his role this year as Park Events Manger; "This will be my 5th year involved with summer SING!, my first year I joined as a part of the management team and I was hooked. I had a fantastic time with games in the park and I knew that's where I belonged... outside. Last year I was given the role of Park Events Manager and I will be doing it again this year. I'm looking forward to what I've planned to make this year's summerSING! one for the history books". Martin's warm heart along with his incredible optimism and indeed his hugely exciting and creative ideas truly makes summer SING! an experience to remember.
Alicia Edwards
Guest International Operations Advisor
Alicia is Children's Chorus Administrator at the Metropolitan Opera in New York. Her stage management background and work at the Metropolitan Opera has given her the ability to step in as operations advisor, working tirelessly to streamline the efficiency of the production process and easing the 'to-do lists' of artistic management while overseeing the training of the teen staff volunteers. An engaging personality, a warm smile and a big heart, Alicia is an excellent mentor to youth arts managers in the making.
Stephen Brown
Guest International Vocal Clinician
A Londoner with a degree from the Royal College of Music and a diploma in Stage Management from the London Opera Center, Stephen recently retired as Company Manager to the Metropolitan Opera in New York, with oversight of the $85 million dollar budget and scheduling for the Artistic Department. He has also worked for a number of major international companies, including the Bolshoi Ballet, Nederlands Dans Theater and the Kirov Opera.
Peter Stobart
Guest Choral Conducting Clinician
Peter is the Director of Music of St Fin Barre’s Cathedral in Cork. Peter studied choral conducting at the Royal Academy of Music London. He was the winner of the Alan Kirby prize for Choir Training 2007/8 and the Thomas Armstrong Prize for Choral Conducting 2008/9. Peter began his career working with children at Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral. In 2014, Peter was Artistic Director for the Voices of Hangzhou Youth Choir. In 2015, Peter's work was broadcast on Chinese National Television to mark the 70th Anniversary celebrations for the end of World War II.
